metaphor contemporary art seeks a bright and responsible intern to assist with the daily operations of this vibrant ground floor Brooklyn gallery exhibiting contemporary art of mid career and emerging artists in all media. Responsibilities will range from reception, to assistance with art handling, installation and gallery openings, to various administrative tasks (e.g. database entry, mailings, et al). Candidate should be motivated and detail oriented with good people and phone skills as well as an interest in contemporary art and the inner-workings of a gallery. Experience with Mac computers and applications preferred.

Gallery hours:
Wed, Thurs, Sat and Sun: from 12-6, Fri: 12-7
Salary: Unpaid (lunch provided)
The internship is part time, and requires a commitment of 10 weeks/2 days per week. The experience can be used for university credit. Position begins: June 2
